U of I Boise College of Art and Architecture Grad Student Earns Exclusive 鈥楾鈥 Space Architecture Residency

MOSCOW, Idaho 鈥 Mason Miles, a fifth-year 麻豆视频入口在线观看 Boise architecture master鈥檚 student, has been admitted to the 2024 鈥楾鈥 Space Architecture Residency. is extremely competitive, with only five residents 鈥 including students and young professionals in architecture, design and visual arts 鈥 selected worldwide.
The program, founded by internationally acclaimed architect Steven Holl, will take place this summer July 5-26 and will consist of a virtual 25-day intensive architecture studio.
鈥淭his prestigious program provides an intensive studio environment, challenging participants to think and design critically,鈥 said Dwaine Carver, U of I Boise associate professor of architecture. 鈥淚t includes design critiques, lectures and conversations with invited artists, writers and architects from around the world.鈥
Additionally, a $1,000 travel stipend will be offered to each of the participants to visit the grounds of the 鈥楾鈥 Space art gallery in Rhinebeck, New York, from July 29 to Aug. 2. Participants will travel to destinations of acclaimed architectural and artistic interest across the Hudson Valley.
鈥淚'm eagerly looking forward to the upcoming summer residency,鈥 Miles said. 鈥淚'm excited about the opportunity to absorb valuable wisdom and design knowledge from Mr. Holl, his colleagues and fellow residents and to share with my peers this upcoming fall semester.鈥
This is the second time a U of I architecture聽student has been admitted to the residency program. Reggie Mace 鈥23, a U of I Boise architecture master鈥檚 student, was admitted to the program in 2021.
